Description
The engineer will be in charge of:
- Executing, if required, the analytical mechanical calculations for the sizing of products during the tender phase.
- Executing contract and specification reading to identify critical areas prior to designing equipment.
- Executing and leading the mechanical sizing of products considering client specifications and directives, internal guidelines, design instructions, input data, and conception rules.
- Checking the documentation and notes sent to clients.
- Checking the manufacturing drawing of equipment.
- Organizing, presenting, or participating in internal design reviews.
- Participating on demand in client clarification meetings.
- Working in interface with thermal engineering and manufacturing quality teams for design optimization.
- Being able to challenge the Mechanical Integrity team by checking boundary conditions of Finite Element models and calculation results.
- Being able to answer customer issues.
- Contributing to design rule updates. Providing proposals for design improvement and cost reduction initiatives based on project return of experience.
- Reviewing Concession Request(s) (CR) and/or Non-Conformity Report(s) (NCR) related to products in manufacturing.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations, including Nuclear Safety requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with EHS rules. Contributing to EHS improvement throughout the whole product life cycle.
Authority
- Reporting to management.
- Interacting with engineers worldwide from internal and external design and manufacturing teams.
- Coordinating design engineers and technicians.
Required Competences
Education & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in engineering activities in an industrial environment.
- Experience in power plant engineering.
Technical Know-how
- Strong knowledge of pressure vessel codes and heat exchange equipment standards and guidelines (ASME, EN13445, CODAP, AD2000 mandatory, WRC107, RCCM, GB-150, TEMA, HEI helpful).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering physics.
- Rigorous and autonomous.
