Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal / Senior Principal Project Management professional to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego), CA. This position is work full-time on-site at our facility. There is potential for remote / hybrid / telework available for this position but not guaranteed. Travel up to 10% may be required.
As the selected candidate you will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects. This position will require the performance of advanced project management tasks from inception to close-out, and continuous management of the system for operational efficiency. Additionally, leading continuous improvement initiatives, the selected candidate will enhance process performance and standardization while driving cost control and resource management. The ability to translate complex business questions into actionable data insights and visualizations will support pivotal decision-making. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and effective flow of products through our advanced flight test facilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Working closely with functional/Program manager to provide direction to maintain production support.
Maintain and develop cost and schedule analysis charts to help support managerial direction.
Provide guidance and statement of work updates to leadership, program, and engineering.
Ordering of materials through EPS and goods to ensure the on-time delivery of our product.
Report status of work to respective customers.
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and data gathering techniques
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement solutions and monitor outcomes
Analyze multiple data sources in detail to identify trends and patterns using engineering fundamentals.
Knowledge of industry practices and standards and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform tasks independently with minimal direction using continuous problem-solving techniques and be able to lead through, overcome and adapt to obstacles and challenges; dealing effectively with change and challenges and helping others to do the same.
They should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have experience briefing leadership along with possessing solid organizational abilities and being a motivated, flexible team player.
Oversee cost and schedule performance for complex technical projects for a wide range of systems and technologies.

This role may be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal Project Management level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Principal:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university AND 5 years of project management, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or related industry experience; 3 years with a Masters; or 1 year with a PhD
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Program Management processes and procedures
- Experience in Microsoft Project (scheduling), Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- The ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

- Bachelors degree from an accredited university Minimum of 8 years of project management, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or related industry experience; 6 years with a Masters; or 4 years with a PhD
- Skilled in Microsoft Project (scheduling), Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Proficiency with statistics, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and visualization
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- The ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industrial Engineering Experience
- Proficiency with statistics, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and visualization
- Cost Account Management (CAM) experience
- Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience managing technical projects preferably aerospace related
- Experience managing facilities and infrastructure projects
- Technical experience in manufacturing/production environment in defense, aerospace, or automotive industries
- Lean Six-Sigma green belt

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
