Job Summary:

Join PayPal’s Engineering team to build scalable, high-performance full-stack solutions that support experiences across global commerce. You’ll work across backend and frontend technologies, collaborating with Product, Design, QA, and engineering partners to develop reliable, customer-focused solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, modern JavaScript frameworks, databases, and cloud technologies while improving the performance, reliability, and scalability of systems that support PayPal’s products and customers.

Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: * Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles. * Advises immediate management on project-level issues * Guides junior engineers * Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices * Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions Minimum Qualifications: * 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications: * Strong full-stack development experience across frontend and backend technologies. * Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Spring Boot, and Node.js. * Experience with at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue. * Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies. * Experience designing scalable, high-performance applications and services. * Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. * Knowledge of software design patterns and modern application architecture. * Experience with payment processing, FinTech, or financial-services technology is preferred. * Strong debugging, problem-solving, data structures, and algorithms skills. Additional Responsibilities * Design and implement scalable full-stack solutions across frontend and backend systems. * Develop backend services using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js. * Build modern user experiences using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. * Optimize applications and services to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. * Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to support application and service requirements. * Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and engineering partners to deliver high-quality customer experiences. * Apply strong debugging, problem-solving, data structures, and algorithms knowledge to complex engineering challenges.
