  • Exciting opportunity to provide project management and operational support as a Research Officer with the School of Medical Sciences  

  • Base Salary starting from $107,312 + 17% superannuation

Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.

We are seeking a Research and Project Officer to provide project management and operational support and coordinate the implementation and delivery of clinical research activities. The role involves coordinating project initiatives including ethics and governance submissions, ensuring reporting requirements are met, managing data processes, strengthening stakeholder partnerships, and ensuring effective administration, compliance and dissemination of research activities.

The position will be based at the Brain and Mind Centre, working with a clinical research team including Professor Susanna Park, and will be focused on peripheral neuropathy.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • lead research project coordination, ensuring methodologies are refined and research objectives are achieved

  • oversee the lifecycle of grant applications, from development through to reporting, ensuring effective funding outcomes

  • develop and manage ethics and governance submissions, assist with management of database and registry infrastructure

  • coordinate data management processes, including analysis and reporting to support research insights

  • streamline administrative processes supporting research documentation, publications and compliance requirements

  • manage stakeholder communications, ensuring concerns are addressed effectively while fostering trust and collaboration

  • facilitate timely report submissions, maintain data integrity within university systems and support compliance initiatives

  • champion a proactive approach to health and safety, review work area protocols and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain consistent safety standards

  • undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required.

About you

  • bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience

  • experience coordinating and managing research administration

  • experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, research design, ethics submissions and grant applications

  • data management experience, including database design, oversight, data integrity checking and preparation of data for analysis

  • working knowledge of and experience with ethics and governance requirements and systems for clinical research

  • experience working in a research-intensive environment and the higher education sector

  • experience managing, reporting and disseminating research data

  • strong skills in data analysis, analytical and problem solving, critical thinking and decision making

  • strong planning, organisation, communication, teamwork and collaboration skills with experience using research software.
