General Purpose of the Position 

Responsible for inspecting and maintaining Credit Union properties, both owned and leased space, including but not limited to, buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds.  The Facility Technician III performs skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, as well as all other aspects of the physical building structure as well as site work, according to industry standards. Troubleshoots and performs preventive maintenance, makes repairs, and supervises, directs, and assists outside service providers and contractors as needed.  Assists and implements construction and capital improvement projects.  Anticipates major repairs and maintenance needs to the Administrative Services and Facilities leadership. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Provides exceptional services by demonstrating courtesy and personal concern for members, coworkers, vendors and contractor needs, and followsup to ensure those needs are fulfilled. 
  • Operates building equipment and HVAC including automation system to maintain proper heat, cooling, power, plumbing, etc. 
  • Organizes, schedules, and oversees outside vendors for maintaining, repairing building equipment, and completing all assigned work throughout the Credit Union of Colorado locations. 
  • Reviews and performs site preventive maintenance program. Conducts operational functions for maintenance logs and reports, work orders including all repairs, updating status towards completion, close out and status updates to key stakeholders. Performs building and furniture modifications, as well as repairs involving carpentry, painting, electrical work, and plumbing. 
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, change orders, RFP’s, RFI’s, AFI’s and schematics.   
  • Maintains building exterior including hardscapes and landscaping on an as-needed basis. 
  • Completes assigned maintenance functions in accordance with OSHA regulations, local and federal codes, as well as established policies and procedures. 
  • Operates snow removal equipment to maintain hardscapes. 
  • Provides emergency and on-call service as requested, which may require work after hours and/or weekends. 
  • Assist the Central Supply division by processing incoming mail, delivering all packages, ordering materials for the Credit Union of Colorado, and fulfilling site order requests made by all departments. 
  • Measure, report, and resolve all ADA compliance concerns at all facilities. 
  • Adhere to all Federal, State laws, and regulations applicable to the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC. 
  • Manages organizational projects through the entire project lifecycle and according to project management standards and best practices. Ensures projects are completed within established scope, schedule, and budget, utilizing cross-functional communication and collaboration, requirements definition and delivery, financial analysis, risk management planning, budget management and change control.  
  • Manages vendor relationships related to the definition project requirements, ongoing implementation efforts, and escalations necessary to deliver successful projects.   
  • Assists in managing the Credit Union’s Facility project portfolio. Works with all business units, Project Portfolio Committee, and IT to ensure proper alignment with organizational projects and initiatives. Communicates as needed to Senior Management and organizational leaders, project priorities and relative updates including future schedule changes and adjustments.   
  • Helps build organizational competence and teamwork to support and deliver strategic projects, products, and services. Works with business leaders to define, prioritize, communicate, and achieve strategic projects tied to organizational goals. 
  • Demonstrates a service-oriented mindset focusing on member service, member experience and creating partnerships within the Credit Union. 
  • Assists in performance management of team members by developing, training and coaching project responsibilities, impact of individual work, and the overall project management discipline.  
  • Ensures all locations are meeting corporate standards. 
  • Provides information and coordination to the Project Management Office’s reporting systems. 
  • Acts as primary contact for all incoming project requests and conducts initial meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project kickoff. 
  • Leads and assists with organizational projects, managing portions of the overall project, to ensure alignment with the organizations strategic Areas of Focus and Bold Steps. 
  • Responsible for communicating project plans, status updates and/or recommendations to Project Portfolio Committee, project stakeholders and/or with senior management. 
  • Participate in identifying and implementing standardized project processes. 
  • Responsible for organizing and updating training manuals, documents, process outlines, and templates. 
  • Responsible for preparing reports and presentations, managing the department calendar, arranging meeting logistics, and tracking and managing the team expenses and budget. 
  • Plans and facilitates organized and efficient project meetings, creates work plans, works with project sponsors to define and control project scope, and monitors day-to-day project lifecycle activities.  
  • Creates project documentation to ensure appropriate communication throughout the entire project.  
  • Responsible for compliance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Anti Money Laundering Act, including monitoring for such illegal activity as it applies to this position. 
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Requirements 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

An Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Needs to be able to operate standard office equipment Must be able to operate drills, electrical tools, meters, timers, hand tools, snow blower, Credit Union of Colorado vehicles and related machinery Ability to apply oral and interpersonal skills that develop member confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of people throughout the organization. HVAC and small engine repair certifications desired.  Current Driver’s License and automobile insurance without any felony convictions within seven years of identified start date. Experience with Microsoft software services, virtual/livestream (Zoom, WebEx, etc.) and mobile devices.  Knowledge of compliance procedures as required by local authorities (i.e., back flows, elevator recalls, fire inspections). 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high rooftop areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy. The employee is subject to changing inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include extreme heat or extreme cold.  Works both inside and outside, subject to the weather. Frequently travels within the Denver Metro and Front Range area.  Occasionally travels within state borders which may require overnight stay.  Ability to be on-call as needed.   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing this job, the employee is typically required to stand and use hands feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear.  The employee is required to sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, push or pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Occasionally, the employee may be required to lift up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
