Salary Range: $55,000 to $67,800

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Program Manager for Graduate & Alumni Career Services partners with the Associate Director of Graduate and Alumni Career Services to coordinate and administer career development programs, resources, and engagement opportunities that support the professional success of graduate students and alumni. This position manages career-related programming, facilitates access to career technologies and resources, coordinates experiential learning opportunities, and supports alumni and employer engagement initiatives. 

 

The Program Manager contributes to the Career Development Center's efforts to deliver accessible, scalable career support through technology, partnerships, and educational programming. Through program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and resource management, this position helps graduate students and alumni build career readiness, expand professional networks, and access career development resources throughout their professional journey. 

 

Career Development is an integral unit in the Division of Student Affairs and aligns with the Principles of Good Practice for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Career Consultation & Participant Support

• Facilitate career consultations for graduate students and alumni related to career exploration, job search strategies, networking, interviewing, and professional development. 
• Promote and support the use of career technologies and self-service resources, including career assessment platforms, résumé optimization tools, interviewing platforms, and labor market resources. 
• Coordinate access to career education materials, online resources, webinars, and digital learning content. 
• Assist participants in navigating career resources and identifying appropriate next steps for career development. 
• Maintain records and participant data within career management systems. 
• Respond to inquiries regarding career resources, programs, and services. 

Program Coordination & Delivery

• Coordinate and implement graduate and alumni career development programs, workshops, networking events, webinars, panels, and educational initiatives. 
• Manage program logistics, communications, registration processes, and participant engagement activities. 
• Maintain and update career development resources, guides, templates, and online content. 
• Collaborate with campus partners to support programming that aligns with graduate student and alumni needs. 
• Monitor participation, gather feedback, and assist with program assessment efforts. 
• Support the delivery of career and professional development content through both in-person and virtual formats. 

Alumni Engagement & Community Building

• In collaboration with the Alumni Engagement team, coordinate alumni career engagement opportunities, including networking events, informational interviews, mentoring initiatives, and volunteer activities. 
• Assist in maintaining relationships with alumni volunteers and partners. 
• Support the collection and sharing of alumni career stories and career pathway examples. 

Administrative Support & Assessment

• Maintain program records, engagement data, and program documentation. 
• Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and program summaries. 
• Support departmental assessment, continuous improvement, and accreditation-related efforts as assigned. 
• Participate in departmental projects, meetings, and professional development activities. 
• Assist with evaluating program participation and identifying operational improvements. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Business, Human Resources, Communications, Counseling, or a related field 
• Three years of professional experience in program coordination, career services, higher education, workforce development, recruiting, alumni relations, or a related field
• Experience coordinating programs, events, educational initiatives, or community engagement activities
• Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, or group learning experiences
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Experience utilizing technology platforms to support programming, communication, or participant engagement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with graduate students, adult learners, or alumni populations

• Experience supporting career development, experiential learning, workforce development, or employer engagement initiatives

• Familiarity with Handshake, Big Interview, PathwayU, Jobscan, St. Thomas Connect, CRM systems, or related career technologies

• Experience coordinating virtual and in-person programs

An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
