Supply Chain Planner

 

 

Role Purpose:

When customer demand, production capacity, inventory, and supply constraints need to be balanced, this Supply Chain Planner will translate business requirements into feasible short- and long-term supply plans that ensure subassemblies and finished goods are delivered on time, in the right quantity, and at the right cost, while maintaining healthy inventory levels.

This role will connect stakeholders across Planning, Production, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Distribution, when supply chain challenges or improvement opportunities arise, to identify risks, resolve bottlenecks, and drive effective solutions. You will also contribute to S&OP/S&OE activities and continuous improvement of SCM processes and planning systems.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize supply plans for manufacturing and distribution orders using ERP/APS planning systems, balancing demand, capacity, material availability, inventory, and upstream/downstream requirements;
• Create detailed and executable production schedules, proactively identifying capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and upcoming risks, and prioritizing actions to protect customer delivery and business continuity;
• Monitor plan execution and delivery performance, track schedule realization, manage delays and deviations, and coordinate timely countermeasures with relevant stakeholders;
• Manage inventory and supply availability by planning, controlling, replenishing, and optimizing subassembly and finished goods inventories while maintaining the right balance between service level and inventory efficiency;
• Evaluate customer and business requirements, including delivery options and prioritization requests, assess their impact on the existing supply plan, and communicate feasible solutions to Sales, Distribution Centers, and other stakeholders;
• Lead capacity and supply alignment activities, including capacity request meetings with production units and active participation in S&OP/S&OE, ensuring capacity plans remain aligned with business demand and priorities;
• Drive proactive supply chain communication and improvement, maintaining planning parameters and KPIs, escalating risks, supporting root-cause analysis, and contributing to continuous improvement of SCM processes, systems, and best practices;

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field,
• 1–3 years of experience in a structured manufacturing environment, preferably in production planning, procurement, material planning, disposition, or logistics;
• Good command of English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional and multicultural teams. German or other Asian language skills are an advantage; a proactive, customer-oriented, and team-player mindset is essential;
• Good understanding of supply chain planning principles, production planning processes, inventory management, capacity planning, and S&OP/S&OE, with practical experience using ERP, APS, or other planning systems;
• Strong analytical, logical, statistical, and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify priorities, understand dependencies, and take appropriate actions under pressure;
• Strong understanding of the relationship between demand, production, procurement, logistics, inventory, and customer delivery, with an economical mindset and ability to balance service, capacity, inventory, and cost considerations;
