This business-focused proficient project management role ensures that approved business investments are translated into value-led, usable digital capabilities that enable business-led change and adoption and ultimately contribute to measurable business value.

The Digital Transformation Project Manager leads delivery across the full value chain — from approved intent and validated requirements through build, quality assurance, release, and operational readiness — enabling the business to realise sustained outcomes over time.

The role orchestrates delivery across the Delivery Centre of Excellence disciplines — Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Change & Adoption — while coordinating closely with wider GTD functions such as Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure & Operations, and external partners.

Key Accountabilities:

Delivery Across the Value Chain

  • Ensure project fundamentals are in place to support successful adoption and value realisation.
  • Enable effective collaboration between disciplines to ensure cohesive delivery.
  • Maintain delivery momentum by managing dependencies, risks, and key decisions.

Change & Adoption Enablement

  • Enable and support business-led Change & Adoption activities to ensure delivered capabilities are ready for adoption.
  • Ensure change and adoption activities are integrated into delivery plans, milestones, and timelines.
  • Support readiness planning including communications, training, and operational transition.
  • Ensure delivery outputs enable successful adoption and sustained ways of working.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Serve as the central coordination point for delivery stakeholders ensuring clarity of roles and expectations.
  • Facilitate governance forums including Steering Committees and delivery reviews.
  • Provide transparent reporting on delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.
  • Support informed decision-making through structured delivery insights.

Planning & Delivery Control

  • Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies, resourcing, and forecasts.
  • Track progress and adjust plans where necessary to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Ensure adherence to Delivery CoE governance and project standards.
  • Ensure operational readiness and transition planning are incorporated into delivery.

Financial Stewardship

  • Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Monitor financial performance and highlight variances early to protect investment value.
  • Support investment governance and value stewardship.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify and actively manage delivery, operational, and organisational risks.
  • Facilitate resolution of complex issues through structured analysis and collaborative decision-making.
  • Ensure delivery risks impacting adoption or operational readiness are proactively addressed.

Vendor & Partner Coordination

  • Support sourcing activities including vendor evaluation and onboarding.
  • Coordinate vendor contributions to ensure alignment with delivery milestones and outcomes.
  • Ensure vendor delivery aligns with Delivery CoE standards and governance.

Delivery Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply Delivery CoE standards, frameworks, and governance to ensure consistent delivery practices.
  • Champion the application of project standards and delivery approaches across our wider team and with business stakeholders
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving organisational delivery capability.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity of Delivery Centre of Excellence practices.

Project Manager Skills & Experience

  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organisations and coordinate cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Strong problem-solving capability with a structured approach to planning, risk management, and delivery governance.
