The Loudoun County Department of Economic Development (DED) helps businesses start, grow, and thrive—and our Business Development Team is on the front lines of that mission. As an Administrative Assistant supporting the Business Development Team, you will play an important role in transforming business data and information into meaningful relationships and opportunities.

This position maintains the accurate business data, records, databases, and partner information needed for the team to proactively engage businesses, identify opportunities, and manage client relationships. Responsibilities include using the customer relationship management (CRM) system to support client outreach; entering and maintaining data; completing database projects; tracking memberships and associations; and updating partner-organization rosters. The position also supports internal website content and public meeting notices in accordance with County and federal requirements.
The administrative functions include coordinating meetings, schedules, agendas, follow-up activities, advisory board meetings, and other engagements involving business leaders, partners, and stakeholders. The position supports special events, business development activities, and strategic initiatives by preparing materials, coordinating mailings and logistics, providing on-site assistance, and addressing other event needs. It also provides administrative and executive support to the Executive Director and Assistant Director, including assistance with meetings, transportation, schedules, and events.
Additional operational responsibilities include coordinating service for department vehicles, providing backup support for invoice processing and front-desk coverage, and assisting other teams and programs as needed. The Administrative Assistant also undertakes special projects and performs other assigned duties in support of the department’s business development, customer service, and operational priorities.
Hiring salary commensurate with experience.
High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work as required.
