Description

The Clinical Therapist provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health services to individuals and families within Erie Neighborhood House and the broader community. This position delivers evidence-based psychotherapy, assessments, case management, and psychoeducation while collaborating with internal programs and community partners to improve client well-being.

The Clinical Therapist plays a critical role in expanding access to quality mental health services for immigrant and underserved communities while supporting Erie House's mission of promoting healing, resilience, and equitable access to care.

Clinical Services, Case Management & Referrals:
  • Provide comprehensive behavioral health assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, treatment planning, safety planning, and ongoing psychotherapy.
  • Maintain an active caseload (no more than 20) of individual, family, and group counseling clients.
  • Deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic services.
  • Provide follow-up services and coordinate client care throughout treatment.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with agency, funding, licensing, and ethical standards.
  • Collect program data and contribute to program evaluation and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all documentation, confidentiality, and quality assurance expectations.
  • Connect clients with community resources and partner agencies to address social determinants of health.
  • Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to support clients' needs.
Program Collaboration:
  • Partner with Erie Neighborhood House programs and external organizations to conduct trauma-informed consultations, workshops, and outreach activities.
  • Support internal staff with client intake processes, documentation, case assignments, and service coordination.
  • Assist in developing and facilitating therapeutic groups and psychoeducational workshops.
  • Represent Erie Neighborhood House at community meetings, outreach events, and partner collaborations.
  • Promote awareness of behavioral health services within the communities Erie House serves.
  • Coordinate/Communicate/Manage funder specific requirements.
  • Participate in reflective supervision, clinical supervision, department meetings, and agency-wide trainings.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices through ongoing professional development.
  • Provide behavioral health trainings, workshops and technical assistance to Erie staff, interns, and community partners as assigned.
  • LCSW clinicians: supervise one (1) graduate-level interns when assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Proyecto Cuidate Behavioral Health Department and Erie Neighborhood House's mission.
  • This position operates within community-based behavioral health settings and requires travel between Erie Neighborhood House locations, schools, and partner agencies.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to meet clients and program needs.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional clinical experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training Certificate.
  • Experience working with immigrant, low-income, or culturally diverse communities or clients exposed to traumatic event(s).
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
  • A valid Illinois driver's license.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to graduate-level interns.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and trauma-informed community workshops.
  • Familiarity with domestic violence, community violence, child abuse, and case management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee must be able to:
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Travel between multiple locations for therapy services and meetings.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Operate computers and other standard office equipment.
  • Conduct community-based visits and presentations as needed.

TEAM MEMBER BENEFITS:
  • Compensation of $62,000 - $70,000 based on experience:
    • $62,000 without LCWS / $70,000 with LCSW.
