The Legal Counsel acts as a trusted legal partner to business leaders across EMEA, providing commercially focused legal guidance that accelerates growth, enables faster decision-making, and protects the organisation from risk.
This position reports to the Senior Counsel EMEA and is part of the global legal team and is a remote role based in the UK.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Commercial Legal Support: Lead the legal review, drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts across all Pall BUs in EMEA, including sales, service, EPC, distribution, maintenance, development, technology license, manufacturing, and procurement agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Collaborate with cross-functional business, engineering, operations, and procurement teams to structure, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, translating technical requirements into contractual language and providing insightful legal advice that balances risk management with practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Training & Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver legal communications and training to business units, manage changes to agreements and processes, and build strong relationships with local leadership to support strategic growth.
- Legal Advisory & Risk Management: Provide practical and solution-oriented legal advice to internal clients on legal risks and company policies, identify legal risks in strategic initiatives and recommend practical mitigation strategies that align with business objectives, and support process improvements and internal controls.
- Legal Reviewer Enablement: Provide training and guidance to Legal Reviewers and business units on contract review responsibilities under the Contract Review Policy, ensuring alignment with company risk limitations.
- Claims, Litigation & Strategic Projects: Support the Senior Counsel EMEA in managing claims and litigation, advise on high-value transactions, complex risk scenarios and emerging disputes. Contribute to global legal and compliance initiatives, drive digitalization, and advise on strategic opportunities including emerging technologies like AI.
- Legal Process Improvement: Develop and improve legal processes, contract templates, training materials, and other tools to support efficient legal service delivery and ensure ongoing compliance with evolving legal requirements.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Qualified to practice law in the UK with proven experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Significant in-house legal experience within a multinational or complex business environment.
- Strong commercial law expertise, including complex contract negotiation and risk assessment with experience in commercial strategy.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to advise senior business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive process improvement initiatives.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Manufacturing or industrial sector experience, with strong familiarity with commercial contract negotiations in that context.
- Experience and knowledge of Data Protection Law and best practice in the use of AI.
- Developing and improving systems and processes for efficient legal service delivery
- Explaining complex legal issues clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Knowledge and experience in EU law.
- Good language skills in French, Italian, and/or Spanish.
