This temporary position is located at 65 Moore Drive Durham, NC 27713- Wake County, with Department of Health and Human Services PH - Chronic Disease & Injury.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $23.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Job duties include, but may not be limited to:

Theprimary responsibility of theMotor Vehicle Traffic (MVT) Project Coordinatoris tocoordinate the branchs projects on preventing MVT injuries, provide representation and guidance on any statewide coalitions or workgroups relating to MVT injuries, and engagelocal public health professionals to work in the MVT topic area.  

Assist with building partnerships statewide between public health professionals and motor vehicle entities, provide representation and guidance in statewide coalitions and workgroups for preventing MVT injuries, develop and disseminate assessment materials of various kinds, provide basic evaluation of needs among local health departments, coordinate dissemination of data and surveillance products, work across DPH branches to identify shared public health concerns, and other related public health administrative duties.

Desired skills include knowledge of motor vehicle traffic injuries, knowledge of coalition building, competency with the suite of Microsoft Office products, and good written and verbal communications skills

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
