Position: Assistant Driver

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Assistant Driver to join our team in Durban, South Africa. The successful candidate will assist our drivers in the safe and efficient transportation of waste materials to designated disposal sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the driver in conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Load and unload waste materials onto the truck
- Ensure that all waste materials are properly secured and contained during transportation
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of waste materials
- Communicate with clients and team members to provide updates on delivery status
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while operating the vehicle
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle as needed
- Assist in the completion of necessary paperwork and documentation for each trip
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or safety hazards to the driver or supervisor immediately
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Basic understanding of waste management and environmental regulations is a plus
