General Summary:

• Works cross-functionally to oversee the definition of PPE requirements (e.g., performance, power, cost, and feature requirements driven by products including automotive/TSN needs).

• Develops PPE architecture for complex features across the PPE forwarding plane; identifies effective architecture enhancements for PPE performance and effectiveness.

• Works closely with key stakeholders and program sponsors, including PdM and software teams, to establish networking objectives and convert them into architectural designs in PPE.

• Tracks industry developments and proactively integrates innovative technical solutions to enhance the PPE/networking engine’s performance and effectiveness.

• Drives teams across PPE design/verification/validation to quickly identify issues or patterns of issues and develop solutions; facilitates model/design reviews and ensures alignment with customer needs and overall PPE roadmap.

• Strategically adds value to platform, methodology, and tools for PPE modeling; oversees technical approach for simulations and analyses of power, performance, and other KPIs at PPE level; determines impact of results on requirements and provides oversight on architectural decisions across implementation teams.

• Guides DE/DV teams for PPE forwarding plane functions, supports DV team to increase coverage, and ensures model-to-DV translation is effective.

• Supports the software team in enabling system-level functions and feature bring-up related to PPE.

• Acts as an expert resource to others on PPE-related trends and advances; shares expertise within and/or across the department.

• Communicates guidelines across teams for writing clear and detailed technical documentation, specifications, and/or feature descriptions; writes and reviews PPE documentation to ensure it can be easily understood by a variety of audiences.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience translating PdM/SW requirements into Packet processing engine (PPE) architectural designs and supporting enablement across implementation teams (Design/DV/VI/SW).

• Deep experience in networking-related architecture/design, plus strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in English and Chinese.

• Strong leadership and cross-functional influence capability

• Strong debugging and system-level problem-solving skills

• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Fluent in Chinese and English both verbal and written.

• Ability to work in stressful situations with tight schedules to meet.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in networking datapath / packet processing / ASIC architecture or related work.

• Prefer 15+ years of experience in networking-related architecture/design, plus strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in English and Chinese.

• Prefer 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).

• Prefer 4+ years in a technical leadership role with direct reports.

Educational Qualifications

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (MS and higher preferred)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
