Quantity Surveyor Location: MidlandsSalary: Up to £70,000 DOE + Car/Allowance + Bonus I’m working with a well-established, privately owned civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure schemes across the Midlands.With over 40 years in the industry and secured long-term framework agreements across water, transport and energy, this business offers genuine job security and clear progression routes.Projects typically range from £200k to £10m+ and include both framework and standalone schemes.This role offers real commercial influence, not just reporting. The RoleAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support across live infrastructure projects, ensuring strong cost control, accurate forecasting and effective subcontract management.You’ll work closely with operational teams and senior commercial leadership to:Produce accurate monthly CVRs and forecastsManage cost and value reconciliationAdminister NEC contractsProcure and manage subcontractorsNegotiate variations and agree final accountsIdentify commercial opportunities and mitigate riskDrive cash recovery and margin protectionThis is a hands-on commercial role with exposure to complex infrastructure environments.What They’re Looking ForExperience within civil engineering or infrastructureHND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalentNEC contract knowledgeStrong forecasting and reporting capabilityExperience managing subcontract procurement and accountsCommercially confident and able to challenge costsRICS or working towards is advantageous but not essential. This is ideal for a QS looking to step into a business where they can influence performance rather than just maintain it.If you’re open to exploring new opportunities in civil engineering across the Midlands, apply in confidence or message me directly.Full company details will be disclosed at interview stage.
