We are searching for the best talent for Equipment Technician II to join our OTTAVA team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute preventive maintenance, inspection, calibration support, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and test equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
- Troubleshoot common mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic, sensor, fixture, and workstation issues; escalate system-level failures appropriately.
- Restore equipment to service safely, verify basic function, and document work performed, parts used, equipment status, and follow-up needs in the CMMS.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and IQ/OQ execution under the direction of senior technicians or Equipment Engineering.
- Support daily manufacturing priorities, equipment readiness checks, tiered communication, and shift passdown activities.
- Identify repeat failures, safety concerns, documentation gaps, and spare-parts needs and communicate them promptly.
SKILLS
- Independent execution of defined maintenance tasks and disciplined use of troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to read work instructions, schematics, drawings, equipment manuals, and basic diagnostic data.
- Accurate CMMS work-order entry and closure, including downtime, failure mode, corrective action, and verification details.
- Clear communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to perform safely under production pressure.
- Basic understanding of OEE and how downtime, reduced speed, scrap, and rework affect equipment effectiveness.
OEE Accountability
- Availability: Capture accurate downtime start/stop times and reason codes; restore equipment safely and within expected response/escalation pathways.
- Performance: Identify obvious slow cycles, small stops, jams, misfeeds, worn tooling, or degraded equipment conditions and support corrective action.
- Quality: Recognize equipment-related defects or rework signals, contain the equipment when required, and support documented disposition and verification.
- Data discipline: Ensure CMMS and production records are complete enough to support OEE calculation and recurring-loss review.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, military technical training, apprenticeship, or vocational certification in electronics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, automation, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in regulated manufacturing, industrial maintenance, laboratory equipment, automation, or capital equipment support.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and computer-controlled equipment and common diagnostic tools.
- Experience executing preventive maintenance, calibration support, and corrective maintenance under approved procedures.
- Basic knowledge of GMP, EHS requirements, controlled documentation, lockout/tagout, and equipment change control.
- Ability to work onsite in Santa Clara and provide schedule flexibility, including occasional off-shift, weekend, or overtime support based on business needs.
