Senior Tax & Treasury Accountant

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Income Tax Provision: Prepare and support the quarterly and annual income tax provision under ASC 740, including deferred tax analysis, uncertain tax positions, and related financial statement disclosures.
- Tax Compliance: Manage U.S. federal, state, and international income tax compliance, working with external advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Indirect Tax: Oversee sales & use tax, VAT, and GST compliance for our SaaS offerings, including nexus monitoring, taxability analysis, return filings, and exemption certificate management.
- Transfer Pricing & Intercompany: Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany charge calculations, partnering with Accounting to ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded and settled.
- Audits & Notices: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax notices, inquiries, and audits; gather support and coordinate responses with advisors and taxing authorities.
- Tax Accounting & Close: Prepare and review tax-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals as part of the month-end and year-end close.
- Cash Management: Monitor daily cash positions across global bank accounts and execute funding, intercompany transfers, and payments in line with approval policies.
- Banking Administration: Manage bank relationships and account administration, including account openings/closures, KYC requests, signatory updates, and bank portal access.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate and streamline tax and treasury workflows within NetSuite, banking platforms, and tax engines; maintain SOPs.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred) and/or corporate tax within a multinational company; 5+ years for Manager-level candidates.
- Technical Tax Knowledge: Working knowledge of ASC 740, U.S. federal and multistate corporate income tax, and indirect tax (sales & use, VAT/GST).
- Treasury Exposure: Hands-on experience with, or strong interest in, cash management and banking operations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Communication & Collaboration: Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain tax and cash matters to non-tax stakeholders and manage external advisors effectively.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Certifications: CPA (or actively pursuing); MST, or CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) a plus.
- International Tax: Exposure to U.S. international tax concepts (e.g., GILTI, FDII) and multinational structures; familiarity with emerging areas such as Pillar Two is a plus.
- Tax Technology: Experience with tax engines (e.g., Avalara, Vertex) and provision tools (e.g., OneSource, Longview).
