Description
We are seeking a seasoned Finance Manager to take full ownership of the financial integrity and reporting for critical operational sites within our client's portfolio. This is far more than a reporting function; it is a strategic partnership role requiring deep engagement with site management, cross-functional collaboration, and direct input to the Group CFO and Board Committees. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance, driving efficiency through rigorous analysis, and leading a dedicated team. Responsibilities:
- Lead the comprehensive financial management and accurate reporting for key operational subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with group standards
- Drive the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely delivery of management accounts, including detailed income statements, balance sheets, cash flow analysis, and ratio interpretation
- Serve as the primary financial analyst, conducting deep-dive reviews to identify financial trends, variances, and actionable opportunities for process improvement across operations
- Oversee the integrity of the General Ledger, ensuring all reconciliations are robust and discrepancies are resolved promptly
- Provide essential support and documentation for internal and external audits, proactively implementing recommendations to strengthen internal controls
- Manage the accounting lifecycle for Fixed Assets, including accurate depreciation and wear-and-tear schedules relevant to heavy operational environments
- Engage strategically with senior executives and department heads, translating complex financial data into clear, strategic recommendations for operational decision-making
- Review and manage key commercial agreements, leases, and supply contracts, ensuring financial compliance and favorable terms
- Mentor and guide accounting team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, compliance, and continuous professional development
Requirements:
- CA (SA)
- 7 to 10 years post-article experience in financial accounting
- Good understanding of IFRS & SARS Regulations
- Substantial experience in managing people and teams, accounting roles, with a focus on financial controls and reporting
