Position Overview:

As a Senior Validation Engineer within Polaris' Vehicle Electronics and Software organization, you will lead validation for RIDE COMMAND display and gauge hardware and software across multiple product lines. This role owns subsystem validation strategy, planning, test coverage, and execution in partnership with internal and external teams. In this position, you guide engineers and technicians, communicate validation risks, and support release readiness decisions with program and engineering stakeholders. The position offers broad technical scope across simulation, bench, and vehicle testing for connected vehicle electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead hardware and software validation through simulation and bench and vehicle testing, directing validation engineers and technicians during execution.
  • Own subsystem validation strategies, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) documentation, test plans, and test coverage, coordinating execution with component system leaders and program managers.
  • Manage multiple component-level validation efforts simultaneously and maintain alignment with program schedules and subsystem validation goals.
  • Create and maintain test bench setups and simulation scripts that support repeatable validation activities.
  • Lead failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions, and incorporate lessons learned into design standards.
  • Review hardware and software requirements and provide feedback when requirements are unclear or incomplete.
  • Drive continuous improvement in validation processes, tools, and test automation in alignment with applicable standards.
  • Provide validation status, risk assessments, and release readiness recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians through reviews of test cases, test results, and defect reports.
  • Partner with cross-functional Polaris teams and external partners to coordinate validation execution and release schedules.

Desired Competencies:

  • Leadership: You inspire, guide, and empower others to achieve their best by setting clear direction, fostering trust, and creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated, and accountable for delivering results.
  • Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.
  • Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering preferred; Computer Engineering or a related discipline with relevant experience considered.
  • 6 or more years of experience in the design, verification, or validation of electronics, such as vehicle controls, displays, or communication equipment.
  • Proven experience leading validation efforts and mentoring engineers or technicians.
  • Experience with CAN, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, VHF, and cellular technologies; experience with UDS and J1939 is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with DFMEA, SFMEA, and Functional Safety is desired.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development in the automotive industry and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with requirements, test case, and configuration management tools such as DOORS, TestRail, or Codebeamer is preferred.
  • Experience working with global teams and in project management is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office and lab environment and travel less than 20%.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
