Description

## The group you’ll be a part of

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

## The impact you’ll make

You will lead Lam Taiwan's Local Service Provider (LSP) program, the outsourced field service workforce that supports Lam's Field Service Engineers (FSEs) with tool installation and maintenance at customer sites. You own LSP workforce strategy, supplier management, contracts execution, and engineer capability development, so that enough skilled LSP engineers are ready to meet customer ramp demand.

You will manage LSP suppliers as an extension of Lam's own Service Team, with the same standards, discipline and accountability. You will work closely with Account Team (AT) site management, and you are accountable for both training quality and installation quality.

## What you’ll do

## 1\. Workforce Strategy & Capacity Planning

  • Set the LSP workforce strategy, the long-term capacity and capability roadmap.
  • Work with Account Teams, Planners and the Global Field Operations (GFO) team so LSP capacity matches customer ramp forecasts, upside and downside demand scenarios.
  • Own LSP hiring strategy, retention programs and succession planning.

## 2\. Supplier Management: Run LSPs as a Lam Service Team

  • Manage the Taiwan LSP vendors (currently about 9) as an extension of the Lam Service Team, not as transactional vendors.
  • Hold LSP engineers to the same operating standards Lam applies to its own service staff: work procedures, safety, quality, conduct, reporting and escalation.
  • Set a regular review schedule with each supplier on people readiness, skills, deployment and performance, the way a service manager runs their own team.
  • Run the quarterly LSP scorecard and business reviews (QBRs), tracking hiring, retention, certification, workmanship quality and cost.
  • Build strong working relationships with supplier leadership; drive corrective actions and lead the decision to replace vendors that keep underperforming.

## 3\. Account Team & Site Management Interface

  • Act as the main LSP contact for Account Team site management teams at customer fabs.
  • Agree each site's LSP manpower needs, skill mix, priorities and deployment plan with site managers, and handle site-level issues and escalations.
  • Give regular updates on LSP staffing, certification status, and the quality and performance of LSP work.
  • Make sure LSP engineers follow site and customer requirements, including access, badging, safety and fab rules.

## 4\. Training Quality & Consistency with Lam Standards

  • Ensure all LSP training follows Lam's recommended curriculum, procedures and certification standards, so every supplier and site trains the same way.
  • Run the LSP training and certification roadmap to shorten time to productivity and speed up Level 2 / Level 3 certification.
  • Check how well training works, including on-the-job training (OJT), and stop suppliers from relying on their own SOPs or informal knowledge sharing.
  • Work with the Technical Managers and Training Center on curriculum, hands-on training capacity and the digital learning library.

## 5\. Installation Quality & Workmanship

  • Own LSP installation quality: all Tool Install (T0/T1) work must use Lam's formal installation procedures, checklists and work instructions, with proper oversight on site.
  • Lead the response to installation quality incidents: immediate containment, root cause, corrective action and long-term governance.
  • Track workmanship and installation quality KPIs and include them in supplier scorecards and incentives.

## 6\. Commercial, Contract & Budget Management

  • Own LSP contracts execution as the business owner, including Master Service Agreements (MSA), Statements of Work (SOW). Support pricing management, working with Operation Manger (ROM), Global Indirect Procurement (GIP) and Legal
  • LSP budget and spending forecast, purchase requests, and approval of invoices and timecards will be own by the Operation Manager.

## 7\. Operations, Compliance & Risk

  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding of LSP engineers and coordination of global loan engineers.
  • Make sure contractors meet EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards, labor law and co-employment rules, and export control requirements.
  • Maintain KPI dashboards (Power BI) and lead process improvement.

## 8\. People Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop the LSP Operations team, with clear roles and a regular review schedule.

## Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
  • 10+ years in the semiconductor equipment industry, including field service, service operations or supplier management.
  • 5+ years managing vendors or contractors, including contract negotiation, pricing and budget control.
  • Experience managing or leading a field service team, and running outsourced teams to service team standards.
  • Proven experience working with Account Teams or customer site management in a fab.
  • Solid knowledge of semiconductor tool installation and maintenance, enough to judge training quality and installation workmanship.
  • Proven people manager.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin, written and spoken.
  • Strong strategic thinking, executive presentation and stakeholder management skills.

## Preferred qualifications

  • Experience from more than one side of the industry: OEM, supplier and/or customer fab.
  • Knowledge of Taiwan labor law for dispatched or contracted workers.
