The Global Senior Category Manager, Local Service Providers (LSP), is responsible for developing and executing Lam Research's global procurement category strategy for external service provider resources that support customer tool installation, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and field service activities. These Local Service Providers work alongside Lam Field Service Engineers and customer account teams to deliver critical, flexible service capacity supporting customer operations worldwide.

This role serves as the global procurement leader and subject matter expert for the LSP category, partnering closely with Customer Support Business Group (CSBG), Global Operations, Regional Service Leadership, Customer Account Teams, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders to develop sustainable workforce solutions that balance capacity, cost, compliance, flexibility, and business continuity.

The successful candidate will lead development of regional and global category and strategic sourcing strategies, supplier governance frameworks, workforce engagement models, and commercial agreements while ensuring alignment with labor regulations, co-employment risk mitigation requirements, customer expectations, and Lam's long-term service growth objectives.

## What you’ll do

Category Strategy & Workforce Solutions

  • Develop and execute global, regional, and local category strategies for Local Service Providers supporting field service operations.
  • Partner with Field Service leadership, customer account teams, and regional business leaders to forecast workforce capacity requirements and develop scalable service delivery solutions.
  • Evaluate labor market conditions, service provider capabilities, regulatory changes, and customer requirements to inform category strategy.
  • Develop sourcing and supplier strategies that support business growth, service responsiveness, workforce flexibility, and operational excellence.
  • Establish category roadmaps aligned with Lam's long-term workforce and customer support objectives.

Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Leadership

  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives, supplier selection processes, competitive bidding events, and supplier transitions.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead commercial negotiations for local, regional, and global LSP agreements.
  • Structure commercial models that incentivize performance, service quality, flexibility, productivity, and cost competitiveness.
  • Deliver measurable savings, productivity improvements, and business value through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Negotiate master service agreements, statements of work, pricing structures, and supplier governance requirements.

Supplier Governance & Performance Management

  • Establish enterprise supplier governance frameworks for strategic LSP suppliers.
  • Lead executive-level supplier reviews and business performance evaluations.
  • Develop supplier scorecards and KPI frameworks focused on:

  • Drive supplier continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action plans.

  • Serve as the primary procurement advisor for all LSP-related sourcing and supplier management activities.
  • Support strategic customer engagements where workforce capability and service delivery models are critical components of success.

Compliance, Risk & Workforce Governance

  • Partner with HR and Legal teams to develop compliant workforce engagement models.
  • Ensure supplier programs align with applicable labor laws, employment regulations, and co-employment risk management requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, commercial, compliance, and workforce-related risks.
  • Develop business continuity strategies to address labor shortages, supplier capacity constraints, and regional disruptions.
  • Support supplier audits, due diligence activities, and governance reviews.

Market Intelligence & Innovation

  • Monitor labor market trends, wage inflation, workforce availability, skill shortages, and competitive sourcing practices.
  • Benchmark service delivery models and supplier capabilities across regions and industries.
  • Develop innovative sourcing and workforce solutions that improve agility, scalability, and service effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage supplier innovation and best practices to enhance customer support operations.

## Who we’re looking for

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect categories such as IT, HR, construction management, facilities, lab equipment and professional services.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate long-term and blanket contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Spend Analysis: Conduct thorough spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier relationships and procurement activities.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, savings, and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, contingent workforce management, services procurement, or supplier management.
  • Experience managing complex service-based categories within a multinational environment.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating high-value services agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships.
  • Experience partnering with Legal and HR on labor compliance and workforce engagement strategies.
  • Strong understanding of contingent workforce, outsourced services, workforce planning, or field service support models preferred.
  • Semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or industrial services experience preferred.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
