The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Food and Beverage Coordinator for our Sports and Events Center.
POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is for the strategic oversight and day-to-day execution of the venue’s concessions operations. Reporting to the Director, this individual ensures the business achieves maximum profitability through inventory control, labor optimization, and the implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs). The Coordinator serves as the primary steward of regulatory compliance, overseeing all facets of health safety, alcohol service governance, and labor law adherence to reduce institutional risk. This position works under close general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of concession operations, ensuring all points of sale (POS) are fully operational
- Conduct comprehensive pre-event audits, including inventory verification and equipment checks, to promote seamless service delivery.
- Optimize food production workflows based on predictive analytics and projected attendance to ensure speed of service
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of a diverse part-time workforce
- Establish a high-performance culture by implementing training programs and objective performance evaluation metrics.
- Oversee employee relations, ensuring all personnel actions are documented in strict accordance with City policy
- Manage high-volume procurement strategies and warehouse logistics to maintain sufficient stock levels.
- Implement cash management protocols and post-event financial reconciliation processes to ensure 100% audit accuracy.
- Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and labor costs to identify and execute margin-improvement initiatives.
- Act as the primary Compliance Officer for the department, ensuring universal adherence to local, state, and federal health and sanitation mandates.
- Maintain strict governance over alcohol distribution policies to protect the venue’s licensing and ensure public safety.
- Proactively identify and remediate safety hazards, maintaining a work environment that is free from discrimination and in full compliance with OSHA standards.
Additional Duties:
- Performs general administrative/office duties as required, including typing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes, answering the telephone, etc.
- Continually stays up to date on all policy, procedure, and/or process changes.
- Completes all work accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Keeps work area clean and safe.
- Maintains any assigned equipment in safe and good operating condition.
- Reports to Supervisor any suggested improvements or areas of concern.
- Ensures professionalism and exceptional customer service during all interactions while performing job representing the City of Greer.
- Exhibits strong ethical standards; ability to create trust and integrity with co-workers, customers, and community.
- Adheres to Employee Handbook and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintains regular and sustained attendance.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Hours: Varies depending on schedule of events; typically Thursday - Monday. Must be able to work weekends.
Salary: Minimum $27.60 hourly; dependent on experience.

Requirements
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. Three (3) years leadership experience in high-volume food service management, stadium operations, or a related corporate hospitality environment. or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and deep knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) and workforce management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound business judgment and execute complex problem-solving under high-pressure, time- sensitive conditions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies and safety standards
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE – PREFERRED:
- Food service safety certification preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
