The Wireline Mechanic Intern located in Lafayette, La is responsible for ensuring equipment is delivered on time and according to operational demands , and for increasing the utilization and efficiency of assets. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform activities as assigned by the Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Technician.
  • Work under direct supervision of Technicians or Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Perform low-level, noninvasive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure that assigned equipment is maintained according to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for the Division, the relevant maintenance programs and standard work.
  • Adhere to transactional discipline within TLM business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
  • Comply with Division TLM standards.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and remedial work plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
  • The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local payroll.
  • At SLB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at/near the top of the range. The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $18-$22 per hour.
  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have the minimum of a technical degree in diesel mechanics/hydraulics.
  • Previous experience as a wireline operator or mechanic.
  • This is a full-time internship, not just for the summer. Must be able to work 40+ hours per week.

Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the United States without sponsorship.
