## What you’ll do:
The Tooling Specialist is responsible for supporting tooling-related projects, industrialization activities and manufacturing operations within PMCC manufacturing locations. The position provides technical expertise in the development, procurement, implementation, maintenance, modification and continuous improvement of production tooling, molds, dies, fixtures, gauges and manufacturing support equipment. The role acts as a tooling specialist and technical project resource supporting manufacturing engineering teams, production sites and internal tool shops in the execution of tooling-related projects, productivity improvements, capacity expansion initiatives and new product introductions.
TOOLING PROJECTS & INDUSTRIALIZATION:
- Lead assigned tooling projects from concept development through implementation and production release.
- Support tooling activities for product launches, industrialization and manufacturing transfer projects.
- Define tooling requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria and coordinate activities between manufacturing sites, engineering teams and suppliers.
MANUFACTURING SITE SUPPORT:
- Provide tooling-related technical support to manufacturing engineering and operations teams.
- Support root cause investigations, tooling improvements, engineering changes, production ramp-up activities and sharing of tooling best practices between manufacturing locations.
INTERNAL TOOL SHOP COORDINATION:
- Coordinate tooling manufacturing, repair, refurbishment and modification activities together with internal Tool Shop resources.
- Support prioritization of tooling requests and participate in make-versus-buy evaluations and tooling capability improvements.
SUPPLIER COORDINATION:
- Support supplier selection and technical evaluations.
- Coordinate tooling trials, FAT activities, qualification activities and implementation support.
- Monitor supplier progress and support technical issue resolution.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
- Identify opportunities to improve tooling reliability, manufacturing performance, productivity and cost performance.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and EBS initiatives.
## Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Tool Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable technical discipline. Alternatively, a completed toolmaker apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification combined with relevant professional experience. Additional training in project management, Lean Manufacturing or tooling technologies is advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in tooling, tool manufacturing
- Experience with production tooling such as molds, dies, fixtures, gauges, assembly tooling or related manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in tooling-related projects, including New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, tooling modifications, capacity expansion or productivity improvement initiatives.
- Experience in working with internal Tool Shops, manufacturing sites and external tooling suppliers.
- Experience in an international manufacturing environment is considered an advantage.
