Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team, working on digital experiences across Lending, Insurance, and Wealth products.
This role is frontend‑led and quality‑driven. You will design, build, and evolve high‑quality user interfaces that are accessible, performant, and maintainable. While your primary focus is frontend engineering, you are expected to operate with a strong software engineering mindset, understanding how frontend systems interact with APIs, platforms, and production environments.
As a senior engineer, you will have meaningful influence over frontend technical direction within your delivery scope. You will help shape architecture, uplift engineering standards, and support other engineers through example, feedback, and technical leadership.

Extensive commercial experience in frontend engineering
Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Strong experience building applications with modern frontend frameworks, particularly React and its ecosystem
Demonstrated experience contributing to or maintaining component libraries or design systems
Practical experience with, or strong understanding of, micro frontend architectures
Solid understanding of web application architecture and how frontends integrate with APIs and backend services
Experience applying testing practices in frontend contexts, including unit and integration testing
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices for frontend applications
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively from high‑level requirements while collaborating within cross‑functional teams
Clear communication skills and confidence contributing to technical discussions
Desirable experience
Exposure to containerisation, cloud platforms, or observability tooling
Experience or interest in native or full‑stack development
Experience working on large‑scale or long‑lived enterprise frontend systems
