Job Title: Sr. BI Analyst / BI Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior BI Analyst / BI Developer to support BI reporting, analytics, dashboard development, and data-related initiatives for an established organization. This role will focus on building and maintaining reports, supporting Power BI adoption, and working with existing BI environments. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with SQL, Power BI, reporting, data validation, and stakeholder communication. Experience with Cognos environments and BI modernization initiatives is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Build, improve, and maintain BI reports and dashboards.

Support the development and adoption of Power BI reporting.

Work with existing reporting systems, including Cognos when applicable.

Gather, analyze, and document business and reporting requirements.

Validate new and updated reports, dashboards, and data outputs.

Prepare routine and ad hoc reports for business users.

Work with internal data sources and support data analysis activities.

Support ETL and data warehouse-related activities when needed.

Communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

Must-have Requirements

7+ years of experience in BI, reporting, analytics, or data-related roles.

Strong experience with SQL and MS SQL.

Strong experience with Power BI.

Experience building dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.

Experience gathering requirements from business users.

Strong data validation and data quality skills.

Understanding of ETL and Data Warehousing concepts.

Strong communication skills.

Nice-to-have Requirements

Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics.

Experience with Cognos to Power BI migration or coexistence.

Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services / SSRS.

Experience with SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, or Visio.

Experience in insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries.

Experience working with structured data for AI or analytics initiatives.
