Technology Sourcing Specialist / Sourcing Manager
Location: San Jose, Costa Rica.
Job Type: 6 months
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technology Sourcing Specialist / Sourcing Manager with 3–5 years of experience in Technology Procurement mainly for the Software Industry. This role is responsible for support and/or leading sourcing activities, negotiating technology contracts, and collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to deliver best-in-class sourcing strategies that align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the different Sourcing and Procurement tasks for the Global Software Procurement Team.
- Execute end-to-end sourcing processes for IT and technology categories (software, hardware, cloud services, SaaS, IT consulting, etc.).
• Support or lead Software source to contracts activities
- Support or perform supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
• Collaborate with Legal to review and negotiate contractual terms, ensuring compliance with risk, regulatory, and internal policy requirements (ideal)
• Engage with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, influence decisions, and drive sourcing strategies aligned with business needs.
• Analyze spend and identify savings opportunities and sourcing pipeline improvements.
- Analyze software usage demand for the past years and perform demand forecasting for the upcoming renewals.
• Manage supplier relationships to drive value, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports and dashboards using advanced Excel and other analytics tools to support data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure contract renewals, pricing benchmarks, and license compliance are proactively managed.
• Contribute to category strategies and support procurement transformation initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, IT, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Technology Sourcing / Procurement roles.
• Proven experience negotiating software, SaaS, hardware, and IT services contracts.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and experience partnering with Legal teams (desired)
• Fully bilingual in English (spoken and written); additional language(s) a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level): Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, etc.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, SAP, Docusign).
• Knowledge of software licensing models, renewal cycles, and cost optimization techniques (Desired)
• Understanding of category management principles.
• Experience with benchmarking tools or market intelligence providers (e.g., Gartner, IDC).
• Certification in procurement or sourcing (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.
