Job Summary:
At LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc., the Specialist II, Procurement (Construction) will play a key role in managing procurement activities for indirect materials and equipment used in the construction and setup of manufacturing facilities and production lines. This role focuses on sourcing and coordinating materials required to build and install equipment that supports battery production operations. Working closely with engineering, construction, and production teams, the specialist manages supplier coordination, purchasing activities, and material availability to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities for construction-related and indirect materials supporting plant expansion, facility build-out, and equipment installation.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotes for goods and services (including installation), and support vendor selection.
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely procurement aligned with construction and project schedules.
- Track purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with construction timelines.
- Perform cost analysis and support price negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and cost efficiencies for construction projects.
- Support contract negotiation and execution, including coordination of terms, pricing, and service agreements with vendors.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and construction teams to understand project requirements and ensure material and equipment availability.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor information, and purchasing data, and support reporting and invoice/payment tracking activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in construction procurement or supply chain management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience in construction-related procurement, including factory construction, facility systems, and electrical or infrastructure-related projects.
- Experience managing purchase orders, contract administration, and settlement processes related to construction procurement.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract coordination within construction or project-based environments.
Skills:
- Proven experience in global sourcing and supplier coordination, particularly for construction-related procurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and apply sound judgment based on analysis.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and coordination skills with internal teams, suppliers, and global stakeholders.
- Experience supporting cost analysis of purchased items, including understanding of cost structures and pricing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support operations and coordination with HQ and global teams.
