Job Overview
A Purchasing Coordinator supports the Enterprise Capital Procurement team by coordinating the sourcing, procurement, and delivery of capital equipment, materials, and services across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring capital projects are supported in a professional, reliable, and responsive manner by obtaining goods and services at the best overall value while meeting project schedules, quality requirements, budget objectives, and operational needs.
The Purchasing Coordinator collaborates closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, finance, and suppliers to facilitate competitive purchase order execution. This position helps ensure capital investments are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with Marvin's procurement standards, strategic sourcing objectives, and business requirements.
Highlights of your role
Place Purchase Orders and Work Orders: Use MRP systems to manage purchase orders.
Align invoices with Purchase Orders, work with Capital and Indirect Procurement Agents where invoices discrepancies need to be escalated.
Review Accounts Payable invoicing for accuracy.
Review open order reports: address past due purchase orders, escalate past due past due Purchase Orders to Procurement Agents
Request Backhauls: Coordinate logistics to optimize deliveries and reduce transportation costs.
Review Accounts Payable invoicing for accuracy.
Place PO's for Requisition Requests: Purchase indirect materials using the requisition approval process.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
Computer proficiency (ICIM, Word, Excel)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to read and understand material prints and specifications
Understanding of material quality requirements, processes and procedures
Ability to analyze inventory usage and requirements
Leadership skills
Purchasing processes and systems knowledge
Negotiating skills
2 or 4 year business related degree is preferrable
Prior purchasing experience a plus
Knowledge/experience of Marvin product
