Description
We are a growing Southern California electrical contractor and are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent with a strong background in large-scale multifamily construction to join our San Diego team.
This opportunity is with an established organization that offers the project resources and benefits of a larger contractor while maintaining a collaborative environment where field leaders have strong visibility with management and opportunities to grow as the business expands.
This role is specifically geared toward a field leader who has spent a significant portion of their career managing electrical construction on large-scale multifamily projects. Relevant experience may include apartments, college dormitories, military housing, and similar high-density multifamily developments. Single-family residential experience alone will not be sufficient for this position.
The Role
The Superintendent will take ownership of field execution for a major project, working closely with Project Management and the General Superintendent to ensure the job is staffed appropriately and executed safely, efficiently and according to schedule.
- Lead day-to-day field operations for large-scale multifamily electrical construction projects.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors and project logistics.
- Lead and develop Foremen and field personnel while creating accountability around safety, quality and productivity.
- Monitor project schedules, productivity, job costs, forecasting and quality.
- Partner closely with Project Management and the General Superintendent to anticipate manpower needs and project challenges.
- Ensure installations comply with the NEC, applicable building codes, contract documents and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate field documentation, including reports, job diaries and as-builts.
- Coordinate effectively with general contractors, owners and other project stakeholders.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure company safety policies and procedures are followed in the field.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential project issues before they affect schedule or performance.
What We’re Looking For
- California General Electrician Journeyperson License required.
- 10+ years of experience managing and/or overseeing multifamily electrical construction projects for an electrical contractor.
- Strong experience with large-scale multifamily construction such as apartments, college dormitories, military housing or comparable high-density projects.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget.
- Strong field leadership skills with experience leading Foremen and electrical crews.
- Solid understanding of electrical construction methods, NEC requirements and applicable building codes.
- Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with field teams, Project Management, General Contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Comfortable utilizing common construction and business technology; experience with platforms such as PlanGrid, Bluebeam, AccuBid, Excel or similar systems is beneficial.
- OSHA 30, CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $130,000–$175,000+, depending on experience, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
- Company Truck + Gas Card
- Multiple medical plan options
- Dental and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- HSA and FSA options
- Paid time off, sick time and paid holidays
- Life and disability insurance options
- Employee Assistance Program and additional voluntary benefits
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity for an experienced Superintendent to join a growing organization where field leadership is highly valued. Superintendents have direct interaction with operational leadership, meaningful ownership of their projects, and opportunities to advance into broader field leadership roles as the company continues to grow.
The company has a strong preference for developing and promoting talent from within, making this a particularly attractive opportunity for someone who wants to continue running successful projects today while building toward greater leadership responsibility over time.
