Core Responsibilities

As Senior Equipment Manager, you will drive the Equipment Owner agenda for the global Horizontal Bagmaker platform, one of the most critical machines in the pre-pack area, by executing platform ownership processes and providing technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and equipment knowledge. More specifically, you will:  

• Drive continuous improvement of the dedicated platform (CI) through technology reviews and strategic roadmap development. 

• Enable the sustainability agenda across LEGO® packing production sites through the adoption of appropriate technologies, facility readiness, and new sustainable materials. 

• Drive change management globally with the mandate to approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and secure relevant updates. 

• Ensure the governance of standardization processes across all production sites, ensuring the use of the latest approved equipment standards through effective collaboration and stakeholder management. 

• Work closely with engineers and other functional experts by delegating tasks, setting clear expectations, managing timelines, and ensuring agreed deliverables are executed effectively. 

• Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, managing collaboration, prioritization, capacity planning, and escalations. 

• Engage with suppliers, stakeholders, and senior leadership by delivering clear, transparent, and timely communication at the appropriate level of detail. 

• Collaborate with global NPI networks and local implementation teams to resolve disagreements and escalate issues to relevant line leaders when needed. 

• Collaborate with the Operational Technology (OT) department on the validation and implementation of the latest software releases.

The purpose of the Research & Development (R&D) Packing and Packaging (P&P) organization (R&D P&P) is to support and execute the Engineering & Workplace (E&W) business plan by ensuring that all new products are packed in optimal packaging solutions and handled efficiently on standardized equipment platforms.

R&D P&P plays a key role in establishing the foundation for the global production of LEGO® sets. By combining packaging development, engineering expertise, and a strong focus on standardization and efficiency, the organization ensures that packaging solutions meet both product and production requirements. The organization generally focuses on:

• Platform Ownership - Leading, maintaining, and standardizing approved technology platforms through best-practice sharing, process alignment, and continuous improvement across LEGO® plants.

• Development Projects - Developing next-generation platforms by combining new technologies and consumer trends to deliver innovative solutions and maintain LEGO’s market-leading position.

• Capacity and Capability Planning - Introducing new platforms globally and supporting installations, ramp-ups, and handovers to build local expertise and enable independent factories with standardized platforms and aligned processes.

You will join the R&D P&P Platform Management team, which consists of 15 highly skilled colleagues and consultants based in Kladno, CZ. The team is responsible for packing platforms (equipment), and packaging (materials, constructions and novelty products).

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate brings strong global stakeholder management skills, a solid technical and engineering mindset, and the ability to confidently engage with key stakeholders. You will be highly organized, experienced in Operations and continuous improvement, and not afraid to challenge both internal and external stakeholders, push the agenda forward, and hold suppliers accountable. Furthermore, you bring: 

• University degree in engineering or a related technical discipline with business understanding

• 10+ years of technical experience working with manufacturing equipment platforms, preferably in an international corporate environment.

• Strong engineering approach, with the ability to understand and discuss the necessary technical details at a high equipment level.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, from technician level up to senior management, including VP/SVP levels, with experience presenting in English.

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings (AutoCAD, 3D models, etc.).

• Reliable, self-driven, assertive, and concise in daily communication with global stakeholders.

• Proven ability to clearly set direction, make decisions, and take accountability.

• Proficiency in English and Czech, both written and verbal.

• Willingness to travel up to 50 days per year.

It would be an advantage if you have:

• Basic experience using SAP, Microsoft Project, or similar business systems.

• Experience within mechanical, IO2, and/or software areas, with a strong understanding of the technical interfaces between them.

• Experience with Packing and Packaging.
