Job Description Summary

The Lead Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the site maintenance function to ensure the safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient operation of plant, equipment, buildings, utilities, and infrastructure. The role is accountable for maintenance delivery, contractor and budget management, compliance, asset performance, business continuity, and continuous improvement in support of site and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the site maintenance function, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and direction to ensure safe, compliant, and effective support across the site.

  • Ensure compliance with EHS, Quality, statutory, and site regulatory requirements, including training, documentation, inspections, calibration, LOLER, and relevant framework elements.

  • Lead planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities to maximize asset availability, minimize downtime, and meet business needs.

  • Align site maintenance strategy with GE Aerospace Global Facilities frameworks, including Asset Availability, Maximo Strategy, Asset Criticality Classes, and PM compliance procedures.

  • Manage departmental budgets and expenditure, including spend approval, quotations, sourcing, and alignment to financial objectives.

  • Oversee contractors and subcontractors, ensuring appropriate safety controls, permits, risk assessments, method statements, and delivery to agreed service levels.

  • Manage and prioritize workload across a multi-disciplined team to support critical operational requirements.

  • Lead repair, upgrade, and improvement projects, including planning, MOC documentation, parts, downtime coordination, safety documentation, and execution.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance data in the CMMS/Maximo system and report KPIs, including critical equipment uptime and PM compliance.

  • Lead the strategy for critical spare parts availability for key site assets, balancing operational needs, cost, and business resilience.

  • Maintain and regularly update the site business continuity plan to reflect asset criticality, machine resilience, and backup arrangements for critical assets.

  • Partner with operations, Special Process Owners, Value Streams, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and resolve site issues affecting performance.

  • Drive corrective and preventive actions, reliability improvements, TPM/Kaizen activity, and lean tools such as SQDC, 5S, and problem solving to improve performance and standardization.

  • Support incident investigations, resolve non-routine operational issues, and escalate complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.

  • Promote best-practice maintenance and facilities management standards, including alignment to ISO 41000 and adoption of external best practices to achieve best-in-class performance.

Qualifications

  •  Significant experience in Manufacturing and Facility Management. Knowledge level comparable to a master’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience.

  • Significant experience in maintenance, asset management, and facilities support within an industrial or engineering environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, contractors, and cross-functional activities.

  • Experience managing budgets, compliance, statutory inspections, and service providers.

  • Strong project management, planning, organizational, and execution skills.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead operational and improvement activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
