Overview
Job Summary:
Coordinates clinical and organizational education initiatives that support staff development, competency, quality, safety, regulatory readiness, and consistent practice across departments. Creates, implements, and evaluates learning activities for clinical and non-clinical audiences, with emphasis on education coordination, competency assessment support, continuing education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and education processes that advance organizational priorities and continuous learning.
Role-Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinates general clinical education activities, including scheduling, communication, learning materials, attendance tracking, documentation, and evaluation follow-up.
- Partners with leaders, educators, subject matter experts, and interdisciplinary teams to assess learning needs and develop education plans for staff, departments, service lines, and organizational initiatives.
- Supports competency assessment processes by coordinating education resources, validation tools, completion tracking, and leader communication.
- Develops and delivers education related to quality, safety, regulatory requirements, professional practice, clinical standards, new processes, and organizational priorities.
- Coordinates continuing education opportunities, staff development offerings, skills days, in-services, orientation support, and department-specific education needs as assigned.
- Evaluates education effectiveness using learner feedback, competency outcomes, leader input, completion data, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Maintains organized education records, calendars, rosters, reports, and resource materials to support continuous readiness and operational consistency.
- Promotes interdisciplinary learning and collaboration by engaging multiple departments and disciplines in education planning, delivery, and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degrees: Master’s of Science in Nursing
- Experience: 4 years of direct care nursing experience
- Licenses & Certifications: Valid Missouri RN License, BLS
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing Education.
- Experience with high-fidelity simulation lab learning environments.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty, such as CMSRN, and/or nurse educator certification, such as CNE or NPD-BC, preferred or required within two years of hire.
