Inventory Specialist

Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of orthopedic surgical products, implants, instruments, kits, and related components. This role ensures products are properly received, inspected, stored, tracked, replenished, and prepared for distribution while maintaining accuracy and product traceability.

What You Will Do

• Receive, inspect, count, and verify inventory against purchase orders and system records.

• Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized inventory/warehouse systems.

• Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, damaged or expired products, and missing items.

• Track product movement, transfers, returns, lot numbers, serial numbers, and expiration dates.

• Organize and maintain inventory according to company procedures and product requirements.

• Inspect, assemble, replenish, and break down orthopedic surgical kits and instrument trays.

• Prepare products for shipment, transfer, delivery, return, or replenishment.

• Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment activities.

• Maintain clean, organized, and secure warehouse and inventory areas.

• Work with warehouse, distribution, customer service, sales, and operations teams to resolve inventory issues.

• Follow all applicable inventory control, quality, safety, and product-traceability procedures.

• Perform other warehouse and inventory duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• 2+ years of professional work experience.

• Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, distribution, or a related field.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience using inventory, warehouse, or enterprise management systems.

• Ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate records.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work onsite and participate in overtime or on-call requirements as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or additional education.

• Experience with orthopedic surgical products, medical devices, surgical instruments, or implants.

• Experience with lot/serial number and expiration-date tracking.

• Experience with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, or physical audits.

• Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds and perform warehouse activities including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods.
