TOTAL REWARDS COORDINATOR – BENEFITS & PENSION

Full Time

Target Salary Range $57,000 to $62,000 per annum

          Placement within the hiring range is based on skills and experience

The Total Rewards Coordinator – Benefits & Pension plays an important role in delivering a positive Associate experience through the accurate, responsive administration of our benefits and pension programs. As a trusted member of the Compensation & Benefits team, you will support Associates, collaborate with internal partners and external providers, and help ensure programs are administered in accordance with plan requirements.

The job involves:

• Administering day-to-day benefits and pension activities, including enrolments, eligibility and beneficiary changes, terminations, retirement transactions and related documentation.
• Responding to Associate questions, clearly explain plan provisions and coordinate timely resolutions with Payroll, Accounting, HR and external providers.
• Processing transactions accurately in Workday and in accordance with eligibility rules, plan documents, policies and applicable requirements.
• Coordinating Associate communications and education related to enrolment, dependent eligibility, coverage changes, leaves of absence, retirement options and program updates.
• Managing benefit coverage, premium arrangements and payment tracking during leaves of absence.
• Providing compassionate support for life insurance claims and benefit continuation-  liaising with families and the insurer.
• Auditing provider invoices and eligibility files, investigate discrepancies, prepare payments and support reconciliations.
• Conducting Workday testing for Total Rewards programs to identify system issues and opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintaining benefits and pension comparisons across properties to support analysis and program decisions.
• Supporting job evaluations by gathering role information, maintaining documentation and assisting in the review process.
• Contributing to total rewards communications, projects and vendor initiatives while providing responsive, confidential HR support in a 24/7 operation.

 

The Ideal Candidate has:

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to three years of experience in benefits, pension or total rewards administration; experience in a complex or unionized environment is an asset.
• Benefits or pension coursework, or progress toward a GBA, CEBS or related designation, is an asset.
• Knowledge of benefits and pension administration, eligibility principles, privacy requirements and plan documentation.
• Experience supporting compensation programs, HR Systems or disability management processes is an asset.
• Strong systems aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; Workday experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Clear, approachable communication and customer service skills, with sound judgment when handling confidential information.
• A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
