Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) - Farnborough

£93-£99 per day | Full Time | Temp to Perm Opportunity | Immediate Start

We're working with a specialist SEMH provision in Farnborough looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in SEND, SEMH, youth work, care, sports coaching, mental health support or anyone who has worked with young people who can present with challenging behaviour.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
• Building positive and trusting relationships with students
• Working 1:1 and in small groups
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage with learning
• Supporting behaviour management strategies in a calm and consistent way
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to ensure students feel safe, supported and motivated

The Ideal Candidate:

• Resilient, patient and adaptable
• Confident managing challenging behaviour
• Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Able to remain calm under pressure
• Experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs is desirable
