About the role

We have a rare opportunity for an energetic and hands-on Production Manager to lead a team of 35 employees at our Toowoomba manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives on building strong teams, driving operational excellence and creating a culture where safety, accountability and continuous improvement come first.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role is ideal for someone who wants to continue to grow and looking to take the next step in their leadership career. You'll have the opportunity to shape site culture, develop future leaders and work alongside Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality and Safety teams to deliver outstanding manufacturing performance.
What will you do
Lead from the front to create and sustain a world-class safety culture.
Build, coach and develop a high-performing team of Team Leaders and operators.
Drive employee engagement, accountability, capability and retention.
Deliver production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
Support and drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve productivity and enhance performance.
Monitor and improve key metrics including OEE, productivity, scrap and operational efficiency.
Partner closely with Maintenance, Quality, Safety and Supply Chain to optimise site performance.
Provide strong operational leadership through daily production reviews, problem solving and performance management.
Support capital projects and site improvement initiatives, including new production line implementation.
Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership and continuous learning across the site
About you
You're a natural leader who knows how to get the best out of people. You bring energy, resilience and a genuine passion for developing teams and improving manufacturing performance.
You'll thrive in this role if you have:
Proven leadership experience within plastics manufacturing, FMCG, building products or heavy manufacturing industries.
A strong commitment to workplace safety and experience building positive safety cultures.
A track record of leading large frontline teams and developing future leaders.
Experience driving operational performance through Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices (advantageous)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A collaborative, team-first approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves when required.
The ambition and capability to grow your career within a global manufacturing organisation.
Experience within plastics, PVC or PE manufacturing will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
