What You'll Do
Crossboundary Energy (CBE) is recruiting an SPV Plant Supervisor to manage the operation and maintenance of CBE’s Caledonia solar photovoltaic power plant. The plant manager will be responsible for the overall management, operation and maintenance of the solar power plant to ensure safe, reliable, and optimal power generation in compliance with contractual, technical and regulatory standards. The role encompasses leadership of the O&M team, coordination of maintenance schedules, performance monitoring, safety management, reporting and stakeholder communication. The plant manager will ensure that plant availability, performance ration and energy yield targets are consistently met while upholding best practices in safety, quality and environmental stewardship.
The position is available as a full-time role, with opportunities for growth within CBE’s Asset Management team to service additional renewable energy projects across Africa.

What you'll do
The SPV plant supervisor will be part of CBE Asset Management team responsible for O&M planning, coordination, performance monitoring and HSE management. Specific duties include:
Oversee daily plant operations and ensure compliance with O&M procedures and safety standards
Lead and manage technical team in performing preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance
Ensure maximum plant availability, energy yield and performance ratio in line with KPIs
Monitor real time plant performance through SCADA and analytic platforms and investigate performance deviations.
Plan and execute annual maintenance schedules and shutdowns with minimal disruption
Manage HV and LV switching operations in coordination with grid operators and authorized personnel.
Conduct and review risk assessments, method statements and safety permits for all site activities
Oversee spare parts inventory, procurement and vendor management
Prepare and submit daily, monthly and annual O&M reports
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality management systems.
Develop and train technical staff, ensuring skill advancement and adherence to operational excellence.
Liaise with the utility, regulatory bodies and off-taker to maintain operational harmony
Lead root cause analysis for faults and initiate corrective and preventive actions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for reliability, safety and performance enhancement.
Represent the plant during audits and inspections.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic or Renewable Energy Engineering
Must have HV Switching competency certification (33kV)
Occupational health, safety and environmental management certification (OSHEMAC)
OEM training on inverter and tracker systems (Added advantage)
Project Management Certification (Added advantage)
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in solar PV operations & maintenance, industrial maintenance with at least 3 years in supervisory roles
Proven experience in managing O&M teams, contractors and plant operations
Strong understanding of electrical protection systems, SCADA, inverters and power evacuation systems
Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems, performance monitoring platforms and O&M documentation systems
Excellent knowledge of PV performance metrics and fault diagnostics
Strong understanding of power plant safety
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS and SCADA systems
Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards
Location
The staff’s place of work and/or authorized duty station shall be in such a location as designated by the Company from time to time and in its sole discretion. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Company anticipates that the staff’s primary duty station shall be the Caledonia Mining Services Solar Plant, Gwanda, Zimbabwe, with immediate deployment to the site upon commencement of employment.
Depending on operational needs, the Company may adopt rotational work arrangements, including Rest & Recuperation (R&R) policies, to promote staff well-being and improve operational efficiency.
