 We are currently seeking two Production Supervisors, one for 2nd Shift and one for 3rd Shift, to lead daily plant operations while promoting a safe, productive, and quality-driven work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, manufacturing experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Function in the Job

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

• Lead and supervise hourly personnel across production, maintenance, and traffic departments.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.
• Coordinate shift activities to maintain smooth material flow and meet production goals.
• Monitor employee attendance, approve hours, and issue corrective discipline when necessary.
• Maintain strong housekeeping standards and ensure the facility is clean and presentable.
• Train employees on safety, quality, and operational procedures; ensure cross‑training for flexible scheduling.
• Track and report production data using AS400/Star, Dayforce, and scheduling systems.
• Support internal departments with cost control, material needs, and customer order flow.
• Help evaluate hourly employee performance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
• Maintain a sense of urgency around customer service and meeting order deadlines.
• Protect company assets through proper operating procedures and equipment management.

 

Required Skills

• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and coach teams.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and federal/state labor laws.
• Ability to multi‑task and make sound decisions in fast‑paced environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to use computer-based production systems.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Understanding of production costs, efficiency improvements, and operational metrics.
• Ability to work independently and use good judgment with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of steel industry operations or industrial equipment is a plus.
