Description
The primary purpose of the position is to supply banquet functions with excellent alcohol service, to ensure guest satisfaction. The Bartender is expected to provide prompt, courteous, friendly and professional service to all Banquet guests and Banquet employees at all times. The Bartender is responsible for maintaining superior quality service for guests, as quickly and efficiently as possible. The Bartender will adhere to all rules and guidelines as set to all Banquet employees and by LGCA guidelines. This position may be called upon to perform duties within a Banquet Server and Banquet Set Up role.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Banquet Bartender Responsibilities:
- Anticipate and tend to all guest needs;
- Consistently observe to ensure all operations run smoothly;
- Maintain bar area, wipe down tables, chairs and bars as applicable;
- Prepare and serve a variety of drinks, quickly and efficiently, according to guest requests;
- Promote and maintain exceptional guest service standards;
- Record promos and spillage as they occur, retaining spillage until management signs the sales slip;
- Reinforce a high standard of cleanliness and food safe standards;
- Replenish garnishes, straws, and other supplies as necessary.
Banquet Server Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all LGCA regulations governing the service of alcohol, that are appropriate to the position and all other government codes and regulations;
- Anticipate and tend to all guest needs;
- Assist with the development of cost control systems to reduce waste in food, supplies, and labour;
- Before taking the order from the kitchen, inspect each plate and sign off for appearance and correctness;
- Collect and distribute glassware as required;
- Consistently observe to ensure all operations run smoothly;
- Greet all guests in a polite manner;
- Pour wine, coffee, and other beverages (as allowed by LGCA regulations);
- Remove used and dirty dishes, glasses and cutlery;
- Replenish supplies on tables and in work stations throughout the shift;
- Serve meals and drinks as assigned;
- Set up meal preparations as per contract requirements.
Banquet Set Up Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of banquet areas, including facilities, meeting rooms, entrances and hallways;
- Greet guests in a polite manner;
- Remove dirty linens from facilities and deliver to Housekeeping or management-assigned area;
- Tear down rooms as guests exit. Do a general cleaning and set-up for the following function.
Qualifications:
- Available for a variety of shifts;
- Basic computer and math skills;
- Can acquire Criminal Background Check and Smart Choices (server version) certificate;
- Clean, with good hygiene habits;
- Clear and concise communication skills both verbally and in writing;
- Confident and aggressive;
- Coordinated, articulate and efficient, and detail-oriented and artistic;
- Discreet and friendly;
- Extroverted, approachable and polite;
- Knowledgeable in Audio Visual Equipment;
- Listening skills;
- Multi-tasks efficiently with time-management skills;
- Organized, accurate and reliable;
- Prior experience in a similar environment, ideally at least two years;
- Prioritizes and works efficiently with limited supervision;
- Professional attitude and expectations;
- Positive and upbeat attitude;
- Recognizes and resolves problems quickly and efficiently;
- Takes direction and learns quickly;
- Works in a team environment;
- Works with the public in a calm, courteous, friendly and professional manner.
