Burial Beer Co is looking for a skilled and reliable Project Manager to join our Hospitality Department. You will support retail facility maintenance and construction operations at all of the company’s locations to ensure your coworkers have a safe and well-functioning environment to complete their duties, and the facilities are well cared for to support business operations.
The ideal candidate has solid experience within commercial building construction and operation, as well as an understanding of the operations of restaurant and hospitality business. This person should also be skilled in understanding design, aesthetics, and construction processes that are common in a hospitality and retail environment. A heavy focus for safety, a keen eye for detail, a creative problem solver, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively using basecamp and other forms of computerized maintenance management systems (“CMMS”) to help track work orders.

What You’ll Do
- Critically evaluate each of the company’s retail facilities on a routine basis to assess safety, function and aesthetic needs, collaborating with facility stakeholders and managers
- Oversee the scoping, scheduling and execution of facility construction projects, working directly with contractors to complete these projects.
- Oversee and organize preventative maintenance services on facility equipment and construction
- Assist in the design of new and refurbished retail facilities with the company’s leadership team.
- Manage aesthetic guidelines set forth by the company’s leadership team.
- Establish and maintain clear project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure work progresses efficiently and remains aligned with overall objectives.
- Develop and maintain centralized project documentation, trackers, and workflows to provide visibility into responsibilities, deadlines, dependencies, and project status.
- Assist and collaborate with the Production Maintenance Manager when available and needed
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and expense trackers to ensure accurate and timely visibility into project spend.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, purchase orders, invoices, commitments, and actual expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular budget reporting and proactively communicate financial risks, changes in scope, and anticipated impacts to stakeholders.
- Support informed decision-making by evaluating cost implications and budget tradeoffs associated with project changes.
- Alert the Executive Team of potential quality or safety concerns when observed
- Alert Hospitality Team of potential aesthetic or brand concerns when observed
- Assist in the planning, setup and execution of Hospitality special events, when needed
- Serve as a liaison for the Brand Team in the execution of major public events
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders in order to perform required maintenance and service when applicable
- Be willing and able to offer your own variety of skilled work in the maintenance and repair of company assets when necessary to move projects along
- Operate a wide range of tools and equipment and ensure they are maintained in safe working condition at all times
- Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures
- Purchase tools, equipment and materials; Operate small to medium equipment in the delivery and pickup of supplies
- Utilize Burial’s work order system to keep staff and team updated on work orders and solutions to work orders.
- Utilize Basecamp to communicate with Burial team mates about work-related items and the status of completion.
What Success Looks Like
Technical
- Building Construction - Sound experience and understanding of building design, construction, materials, and processes.
- Building Operation Equipment - Sound experience and understanding of the equipment used to operate buildings for commercial purposes.
- Utilities Equipment - Sound experience and understanding of manufacturing-related plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and heating systems, efficiencies and operational hazards
- Technology and Systems - Working knowledge in software and tools used to manage the operation of our commercial retail businesses

Requirements
Who We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- 21+ years of age
- Ideal candidate has worked for general contractor or similar entity for several years
- Ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Experience with electrical systems, electrical controls, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Experience in building construction, whether residential or commercial
- Perform basic arithmetic and geometry
- Special licenses may be required to operate certain vehicles
- Forklift and large equipment experience
- Strong time management and customer service mindset
- Able to work independently and make decisions with confidence when needed. Possess the ability to prioritize projects/issues as they arise.
- Utilize Basecamp for work order requests and communication throughout the company.
- Assist satellite taproom managers with facility issues as they arise.
- Fabrication and construction experience.
- Have a strong desire to learn or perfect skills especially in the following areas: welding, woodwork, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, janitorial, vehicle maintenance
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, drive, and lift and carry heavy items for extended periods of time
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Repeatedly stand, bend, twist and move for full shift
