Job Title
Electronics Modeling & Simulation Intern
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Electronics Modeling & Simulation Intern to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of advanced simulation workflows for electronic components and PCB assemblies.
This role focuses on building and automating multi-physics simulation frameworks, including EMI/EMC analysis, thermal modeling, and system-level behavior prediction using industry-standard tools such as ANSYS Electronics Desktop (HFSS, Icepak, SIwave) or equivalent platforms.
The intern will work closely with R&D engineers to develop simulation methodologies, validate models, and support design decisions through physics-based analysis. This position is ideal for postgraduate students with strong interests in computational methods, electronics systems, and simulation-driven design.
Key Responsibilities
Simulation & Modeling
- Develop and implement simulation workflows for:
- EMI/EMC analysis of PCB assemblies
- Thermal performance prediction of electronic components and systems
- Signal integrity (SI) / power integrity (PI) (if applicable)
- Create physics-based models for electronic components and assemblies mounted on PCBs
- Perform multi-physics simulations combining electromagnetic and thermal effects
Tool Development & Automation
- Build and enhance simulation workflows and automation scripts using:
- Python / scripting within ANSYS or equivalent tools
- Standardize modeling approaches for reuse across multiple projects
- Support development of internal simulation frameworks for R&D activities
Analysis & Validation
- Interpret simulation results and correlate with expected physical behavior
- Perform sensitivity studies and parametric analysis
- Assist in validating models against available experimental or literature data
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with design, hardware, and R&D teams
- Document simulation methodologies and findings in a structured manner
- Present results and insights to engineering stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Education
- Currently pursuing or recently completed Postgraduate degree (M.Tech / MS / MSc / equivalent) in:
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Applied Physics
- Computational Engineering or related fields
Technical Skills
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Electromagnetics (Maxwell’s equations, wave propagation, EMI/EMC basics)
- Heat transfer (conduction, convection basics)
- Exposure to simulation tools such as:
- ANSYS Electronics Desktop (HFSS, Icepak, SIwave) or similar
- Programming/scripting knowledge:
- Python / MATLAB preferred
Analytical Skills
- Understanding of numerical methods / simulation techniques
- Ability to translate physical problems into computational models
- Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with:
- PCB-level simulations (SI/PI/EMC)
- Thermal analysis of electronics
- FEM / FDTD / circuit simulation techniques
- Exposure to:
- Automation APIs (ANSYS scripting, PyAEDT, etc.)
- Data-driven or ML-assisted simulation workflows
Internship Details
- Duration: 6 months to 1 year
- Eligibility: Postgraduate students (currently enrolled)
- Location: Pune
- Start Date: 01-July-2026
What the Intern Will Gain
- Hands-on experience with industry-grade simulation tools
- Exposure to real-world electronics system challenges (EMI, thermal, PCB behavior)
- Opportunity to build end-to-end simulation workflows
- Mentorship in computational modeling and engineering analysis
This role is ideal for candidates interested in pursuing careers in simulation-driven design, EDA tools, or computational engineering in electronics systems.
