General Notes

This is a Workstudy position for students attending UT Austin.

  • A workstudy Fall 2026 award letter must be attached along with the other required materials to be considered
  • This position is in-person
  • Spring 2027 employment may be considered with performance and Spring 2027 workstudy secured

Purpose

To support the Department of Asian Studies faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Copy and/or scan various office documents and check for accuracy
  • Monitor office supplies inventory management; communicate with supervisor when supplies need to be re-ordered
  • Assist in activities, events, and special projects in the department. Participate in processes and activies designed to establish an organizational culture
  • Assist with website(s) and social media management. Work in Canva to develop event promotional materials
  • Front desk email and phone coverage
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Be awarded Federal Work-Study on Work-Study Verification (WSV)

  • Meet satifacory academic progress standards as set by the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid
  • Must be enrolled in appropriate credit hours as required by the student's academic or non-academic title. Additional rules may apply in cases where stricter enrollment is required for Work-Study funds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of administrative experience

Salary Range
$15.00

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

  • Use of manual dexterity
