Description
Job title: VP, Growth and Sales: Life Sciences, Healthcare and Medical Device
Location: United States, East Coast strongly preferred; remote with extensive travel
The mandate
· Create and execute a unified growth strategy across Life Sciences, Healthcare and Medical Devices, with the majority of market attention, leadership energy and pipeline creation centered on Life Sciences.
· Build a repeatable new logo engine and originate large, strategic opportunities. This is primarily a growth and sales leadership position, not a traditional account management role.
· Help scale an existing combined business of approximately 9 figures multi-million dollar sales quota platform through organic growth, stronger market coverage, larger pursuits and sharper sector positioning.
· Provide commercial leadership across three established sector businesses, align their go to market priorities and create one coherent executive story for clients, partners and the market.
· Translate deep industry knowledge into board and C suite conversations, differentiated propositions and complex transformation programs that combine consulting, technology, engineering and managed services.
Sector priorities
Life Sciences, the primary focus
The successful executive will bring current, credible and commercially useful knowledge across pharma and biotech, CROs and CDMOs, consumer health and the broader life sciences value chain. Relevant areas include discovery and development, clinical trials, regulatory and quality, manufacturing and supply chain, commercial launch, patient services, data and AI, cloud modernization, enterprise applications and digital operating models.
Medical Devices and MedTech
The role will also support growth with device and diagnostics companies through connected products, software and platform engineering, product lifecycle services, intelligent validation, quality and regulatory assurance, smart manufacturing, supply chain transformation and digital health.
Healthcare
Relevant healthcare experience may span payers, providers, pharmacy benefit managers and HealthTech. Priority themes include patient and member experience, core platform modernization, interoperability, data and analytics, responsible AI, value based care, operational optimization and secure cloud native transformation.
Key responsibilities
· Own the growth agenda. Set the commercial strategy, priority markets, target account architecture and investment choices required to achieve the portfolio ambition.
· Win new logos. Personally lead executive access, pursuit strategy and closing for major new clients, while building a disciplined team based origination engine.
· Shape large deals. Work with consulting, delivery, engineering, alliances and solution teams to convert industry problems into differentiated, outcome based propositions and multiyear programs.
· Build market credibility. Represent the organization with senior industry executives, boards, partners and ecosystem leaders. Strengthen the external point of view on AI, digital engineering and regulated transformation.
· Integrate three businesses. Align Life Sciences, Healthcare and Medical Devices leadership around a common growth plan without losing the specialist depth of each sector.
· Run a rigorous pipeline. Establish clear qualification, account prioritization, forecasting, deal governance and conversion disciplines. Maintain visibility into revenue, margin, risk and resource needs.
· Develop leadership capacity. Coach senior sales and sector leaders, raise standards for consultative selling and create a collaborative culture that connects front end growth with delivery excellence.
· Expand selectively. Use existing relationships when they can unlock substantial new programs, but keep the role centered on new revenue rather than routine farming or account administration.
Ideal Candidate
Required experience
· Approximately 15 or more years of progressive enterprise sales, business leadership or market development experience, including significant responsibility in global technology services, digital engineering, consulting or a highly relevant enterprise product organization.
· Predominantly Life Sciences experience, with current or recent responsibility for selling into pharmaceutical, biotech or adjacent life sciences clients.
· Meaningful exposure to Healthcare and Medical Devices, whether through current responsibility or earlier leadership assignments.
· A documented record of opening major new logos and building large new revenue streams. Candidates whose experience is primarily account farming will not match the central mandate.
· Experience carrying or influencing a nine figure portfolio, or leading a comparably complex scale up involving multiple industry segments, large pursuits and global delivery teams.
· Executive relationships and a relevant network across pharmaceutical, biotech, MedTech, payer, provider or HealthTech organizations.
