About the role
We are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to support fleet operations by ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services for vessels worldwide.
This is a hands-on operational role, working closely with Procurement Managers, Vessel Managers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to execute procurement activities, support sourcing initiatives, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement in line with the GPS Strategy.
What you will do
- Execute procurement activities in line with vessel schedules, ensuring timely processing of requisitions, quotations, purchase orders, and invoices
- Coordinate with Vessel Managers, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Mentor and support Procurement Officers while contributing to team initiatives and knowledge sharing
- Support sourcing activities, supplier relationship management, negotiations, and cost optimization
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve procurement issues, and minimize supply chain disruptions
- Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, systems, governance requirements, and frame agreements
- Maintain accurate procurement records, KPI data, and audit trails
- Identify process improvement and e-sourcing opportunities to support the GPS Strategy
What we are looking for
- 3–5 years of maritime procurement or purchasing experience with procurement and logistics exposure
- Degree, Diploma, FE Qualification, or CIPS qualification
- Good understanding of marine procurement, supplier management, logistics, and Incoterms
- Experience with procurement systems (BASSnet, ShipServ, or similar preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Results-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work under pressure
