Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a compassionate, organized, and customer-focused Medical Secretary to join our Hematology Oncology team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for patients and providers, ensuring a positive patient experience while supporting the daily administrative operations of a busy specialty practice.
What You'll Do
- Welcome patients and manage the check-in/check-out process.
- Answer and triage incoming calls, providing exceptional customer service.
- Schedule patient appointments, procedures, and diagnostic exams.
- Prepare, maintain, and update patient medical records.
- Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications for procedures and exams.
- Scan and organize medical documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and office team members to support efficient patient care.
- Maintain proficiency with office technology and electronic health record systems.
- Support clinical staff with clerical tasks while contributing to a positive, patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of healthcare or medical office experience required.
- Previous Medical Secretary or equivalent administrative experience required.
- Epic experience preferred.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple phone lines.
