Job Title: Contract Manager

Role Overview:
The Contract Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all contracts throughout their lifecycle. This role involves negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts, ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions, as well as documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise during its implementation or execution.
What will you do?
- Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contracts, including monitoring all payments and obligations.
- Collaborate with legal department to ensure contract terms comply with legal requirements and company policies.
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including initiation, analysis, negotiation, monitoring, modification, completion and termination.
- Act as the main contact for customers and suppliers regarding contractual matters.
- Provide contract-related issue resolution, both internally and externally.
- Support and provide advice to the company in all commercial and contractual management matters, primarily in contract and procurement matters.
- Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy.
- Keeps track of important contract dates and milestones.
- Analyze contracts considering corporate guidelines and policies and the interest of project stakeholders
- Handling claims and variation/change orders
- Participate in the negotiation process of various contracts with clients, joint ventures, sub-contractors and suppliers
- Draft contractual correspondences in consultation with PM
- Participate in project reviews, propose, and support mitigation actions as required
- Monitor subcontractors/suppliers’ obligations to ensure contractual milestones are being met, exercise contractual remedies
- Handle contract close-out obligations, including warranty commencement, closure of financial instruments, closure of subcontracts
- Maintain contract management tools, filings, and systems
Experience and Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
- Proven experience in contract and commercial management with a minimum of 10 years’ experience related to engineering, construction, manufacturing, utilities, or other heavy industries.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts.
- Excellent proficiency in English. Must possess excellent drafting skills and strong attention to detail.
- Willing to travel occasionally to project sites
- Ability to provide timely and sound expert commercial and contract management advice, and work as part of a small close-knit team, in a demanding, fast-paced, multilingual, and multidisciplinary environment.
- A strategic communicator, self-motivated, with a commercial, practical, methodical, detail oriented, flexible, and dynamic approach
- Experience or courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling.
- Thorough knowledge of prime contract administration office and field procedures and documents relating to a construction project.
- Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, procedures, and work practices.
