Description
At Maersk Container Industry (MCI), we are on an ambitious transformation journey. Over the coming years, we will continue optimizing our global manufacturing footprint, driving productivity improvements, investing significantly in automation and operational excellence, and strengthening our position as an industry leader.
To support this journey, we are looking for a commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner who thrives at the intersection of finance, operations, procurement, and business strategy.
This is not a traditional finance controlling role. We are looking for someone who is passionate about understanding how a business operates, challenges the status quo, and uses financial insights to drive better decisions, improved profitability, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
As Senior Finance Business Partner, you will act as the trusted finance partner to key business functions across Denmark and China.
Your responsibilities will include:
Business Partnering & Performance Management
- Serve as the dedicated Finance Business Partner for Procurement and related functions across Denmark and China.
- Support manufacturing and factory productivity initiatives in partnership with local finance and operational teams.
- Challenge and support business leaders in driving performance, profitability, cost optimization, and value creation.
- Translate financial data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities within your areas of responsibility.
- Drive monthly financial performance reviews and support management decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance against targets and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build business cases and support investment decisions related to productivity and transformation initiatives.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with operational teams to understand processes, identify inefficiencies, and drive performance improvements.
- Support major strategic initiatives focused on manufacturing optimization, productivity improvements, and cost reduction.
- Develop reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that increase transparency and support decision making.
Reporting & Governance
- Perform financial controlling and performance management activities across your business areas.
- Support monthly reporting processes and management reviews.
- Collaborate closely with accounting and finance teams in both Denmark and China.
- Participate in group reporting activities towards A.P. Moller - Maersk.
What We're Looking For
We are interested in candidates who combine strong financial skills with genuine business curiosity and commercial understanding.
You likely bring:
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering Economics, or similar.
- Several years of experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, Operational Finance, Performance Management, Manufacturing Finance, Supply Chain Finance, or Business Controlling.
- Experience working in an international industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to turn data into actionable business recommendations.
- Experience with financial planning, forecasting, and performance management.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics experience is an advantage).
Success in This Role
You will be successful if you are:
- A proactive self-starter who takes ownership and drives results.
- Commercially minded with a strong business and profitability mindset.
- Curious about operations and how value is created across the business.
- Comfortable challenging stakeholders and influencing decisions at all organizational levels.
- Energetic, ambitious, and motivated by driving change and continuous improvement.
- An excellent communicator who can simplify complex financial topics.
- A strong collaborator who enjoys working across functions, cultures, and geographies.
Why Join MCI?
This is an opportunity to join a business undergoing significant transformation and play a key role in shaping its future performance. You will work closely with senior leaders across Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Operations, gaining broad exposure while contributing directly to strategic initiatives that impact the business globally.
If you are motivated by business partnering, performance improvement, and making a tangible difference in an international manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you.
