A Day in the Life

The Global Operations and Supply Chain Financial Planning and Analysis Scrap Cost Pool team provides financial insight and decision support for manufacturing sites across the EAST region. The team partners with site operations, Operations Finance and Global Manufacturing Financial Planning and Analysis to improve production scrap performance, reporting and forecasting.

This position is based in Parkmore, Galway, Ireland, with a Flex working arrangement.

A Day in The Life Of:

As a Finance Analyst, you will serve as a key Financial Planning and Analysis partner for manufacturing sites across the EAST region. You will consolidate and interpret production scrap performance, identify the drivers of financial variances and translate data into insights that support operational and financial decisions. You will also contribute to forecasting, planning and the continued

stanardisation of scrap reporting.

• Serve as the primary Financial Planning and Analysis contact for EAST region manufacturing sites in relation to the Total Production Scrap cost pool
• Consolidate and review weekly production scrap key performance indicators, investigate variances and escalate material concerns
• Translate financial and operational data into clear insights and presentation content for weekly, monthly and quarterly performance discussions
• Partner with Manufacturing Site Operations, Operations Finance and Global Manufacturing Financial Planning and Analysis to improve financial performance and decision-making
• Analyse material usage variance and production scrap results, providing sites with insight into performance drivers and emerging trends
• Coordinate scrap assumptions during the Annual Operating Plan and quarterly forecasting processes, including detailed planning in OneStream
• Expand adoption of the Scrap KPI dashboard and support standardised scrap reporting across the EAST region
• Identify forecasting opportunities using expected operational changes, historical performance and developing trends

Key Skills & Experience  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in manufacturing finance and/or cost accounting, or an advanced degree and 0+ years of experience in manufacturing finance and/or cost accounting

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accountancy qualification, such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
• Experience presenting financial analysis and recommendations to leadership
• Experience partnering across functions, time zones and geographical locations
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Experience using OneStream, SAP and/or Business Planning and Control System.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
