Doorman / Porter (3 Positions) - Shah Palace Hotel

Job Summary

Our client is seeking 3 professional Doormen/Porters to provide a warm welcome and exceptional first impression to guests at a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The successful candidates will assist guests with luggage, escort them within the hotel, and ensure outstanding customer service from arrival to departure.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
• Assist guests with luggage and escort them to their rooms.
• Open doors and provide directions within the hotel.
• Coordinate luggage handling during check-in and check-out.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming entrance area.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries.
• Work closely with the Front Office team to ensure smooth guest arrivals and departures.
• Assist with transportation arrangements when required.
• Uphold the hotel’s customer service standards at all times.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Front Office Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related field is an advantage.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a hotel or customer service environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to handle guests’ luggage safely.
• Professional appearance and friendly personality.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Previous luxury hotel experience is preferred.
